Footings

Although that pretty tree in the front yard did a great job hiding this ugly old house it was time to come down. So we pulled up the rose bushes and knocked the tree down, the kids and I threw all the limbs into the back of our trailer and off it went to the dump!  We then stacked the blocks used for the rose bush garden and sold them all for $100. That night we took the kids to dinner at Red Robin and spent most of it there.

On July 31st we finally got cement for our back addition to even up the house and our future driveway. What a wild 2 weeks this has been. Apparently we chose the rainy season to do this part. We worked hard to get those footings dug!

We pulled out the laser to make sure everything was straight as can be and level.

It seriously took us over a week working every single night after Kory got home and ALL day on two Saturday's to get this ready.

And then the rains came, in the mornings before school the kid would go out with 5 gallon buckets scooping the water out of the trenches. When it got to where the buckets weren't doing anything we pulled out our water shooters to suck up the little puddles. Those $1 water shooters were the best for this! We had to do this 4 different times. We were so ready to get our much awaited cement.

Finally our big day arrived on July 31st, the cement truck came! We poured the footings for our new driveway!

And a footing for our front covered porch.

And the footings for our back addition!

Finally no more scooping unwanted water!
WooHoo!!
